What is Love?

LOVE IS..

1 Corinthians 13: 4-13 Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffereddoes not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth;  bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Love never fails; but if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part; 10 but when the perfect comes, the partial will be done away. 11 When I was a child, I used to speak like a child, think like a child, reason like a child; when I became a man, I did away with childish things. 12 For now we see in a mirror  dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known. 13 But now faith, hope, love, abide these three; but the  greatest of these is love.

Loneliness?

Feeling Lonely?

At times, each of us may feel that we are walking alone in this life. Loneliness effects millions of people each day., and it leaves many people in despair. When you are experiencing time of being alone, trust God’s care for you.

God gives us a promise that we can hold onto when times are difficult. Psalm 147: 3 He heals the brokenhearted And binds up their wounds.

In Psalms 68:5-6 A father of the fatherless and a judge [a]for the widows, Is God in His holy habitation.6 God makes a home for the lonely;
He leads out the prisoners into prosperity,
Only the rebellious dwell in a parched land.

Are You Following Christ?

Forsaking All

He Did not say that a diluted Form of discipleship would be possible for a man who holds on to his treasures, Jesus said “he …cannot be my disciple.”

Any sacrifices we make are no sacrifice at all, when seen in the light of Calvary. Besides all this, we only give to the Lord what we cannot keep anyway and what we have ceased to love.

True Discipleship

The Old Life

Ephesians 2: 1-2 And you  were dead in your trespasses and sins,  in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience.

Each one of us were separated from God due to our sins that we have committed, and the sin nature that exists within us. These trespasses are by their very nature against God. The course of our daily lives is contrary to the righteousness of God. Each one has lived by the world’s standards and loved it. All that is of the world is energized by the prince of the power of the air, the lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes and the pride of life. These lusts can be broken by the power of Christ’s work on Calvary.

Love Your Neighbor!

love your neighbor.jpg

Love Your Neighbor! This is the second greatest commandment in the Bible. God requires all those who are born again to demonstrate radical love. God has first demonstrated this radical love on each of us. He confronted us living in the vilest sins imaginable, and He extended radical love to the unlovable.

This is taught in the Old Testament and the New Testament. In Leviticus 19:18b , God says  you shall love your neighbor as yourself; I am the Lord. In the New Testament, Jesus affirms the great command of loving your fellow man. In Matthew 19:19B You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

To love our neighbors as ourselves requires a deep abiding love of God. If our love of God is shallow, we will not be able to achieve what God desires from us. It will be challenging at times to love our neighbors, but the Lord is glorified when each of us love difficult people who are desperately in need of God’s love. As you look around, what people near you needs to know and experience God’s Love? Will your love today?
